Dermal Fillers

Ageing makes us lose volume in our face leaving lines which become engraved around the nose, mouth and cheeks which look hollow, these make us look older, unhappy or mad. Dermal fillers help return volume to your face, reduce wrinkles and fine lines to give you a more youthful and rejuvenated appearance. These fillers can also help in contouring certain facial features such as lips and cheek bones.  Dermal fillers achieve these results as they are based on a naturally occurring sugar in your body. This sugar aids in skin hydration by binding to water and helps regulate water balance in your skin. Using dermal fillers can help quickly revitalise and add volume to your skin and give you a more refreshed look. At Glenelg Cosmetic Centre we offer dermal fillers for several areas that include: lips, cheeks, marionette lines and nasolabial folds.

Over time our lips slowly lose their plumpness due to ageing making them look thin and lined. A skilled individual such as Dr Rajan can help return the plumpness and help your lips look youthful. He does this by restoring volume to thin lips, smoothing lines that form above the lips, improving lip symmetry and finally refining the shape of lips to make them look as plump as possible.

One of the most affected areas from ageing are our cheeks. Our face mainly gets its volume from our skull and fat but as time goes on the skull changes and the fat in our face is lost. Using cheek fillers can help fight this lost volume and help our cheeks look full and healthy.

Another reason for ageing making us look unhappy or mad all the time is due to marionette lines. These lines form go all the way from the ends of our lips to the bottom of our faces leaving us with undesirable expressions. Dermal fillers for marionette lines can really help smoothen out this area and return a happy and cheerful expression to our face.

Nasolabial folds in particular are another reason for the aged look on our faces. These folds run from each side of our nose to the corners of our mouth. The folds deepen with age and can result in our skin becoming saggy and thin. They can make us look older than we really are and are worsened by excessive facial expression, sun exposure, smoking and loss of collagen. Fillers for nasolabial folds will return volume to the affected are and help you look young and refreshed.
