Obesity Management
Weight is a medical issue, not a willpower test. We work with you on a realistic, evidence-based plan — without judgement.
- Preventive Care
Sustainable beats dramatic, every time
If losing weight were simply a matter of trying harder, no one would carry extra weight. Genetics, medications, sleep, stress, hormones and health conditions like insulin resistance and thyroid disease all play a part — which is exactly why a medical assessment is the right starting point.
Your GP will assess your overall health, screen for contributing conditions and weight-related complications like high blood pressure, sleep apnoea and pre-diabetes, and talk honestly about what’s realistic. Even 5 to 10% weight loss measurably improves blood pressure, blood sugar and joint pain.
Treatment is built around you: nutrition and activity changes, referral to dietitians or exercise physiologists (with Medicare rebates through a care plan where eligible), medication where clinically appropriate, and referral for bariatric assessment when that’s the right conversation. Then we follow up — because ongoing support is what makes weight loss stick.

- Common Questions
Frequently asked questions
How much weight do I need to lose to see benefits?
Less than most people think. Losing 5 to 10% of body weight measurably improves blood pressure, blood sugar, cholesterol and joint pain. Health improves well before any ‘goal weight’.
Do you prescribe weight loss medication?
Where it’s clinically appropriate, yes. Medication works best alongside diet and activity changes, and not everyone is a candidate — your GP will discuss the options, costs and evidence honestly.
Can I get subsidised dietitian visits?
If you have an eligible chronic condition, a GP care plan can include Medicare-rebated dietitian and exercise physiology visits. Your GP will confirm your eligibility.
Will I just be told to eat less and move more?
No. You already know that part. We look for medical contributors, treat complications, and build a specific, supported plan — then review it with you regularly.

I have been a patient at this medical practice since it opened in 2023. The receptionists are wonderful in providing my wife and myself with medical and specialists appointments and the doctors and nurses have been very supportive to both of us. A big thank you to all.Posted on Google![]()
