Work Related Injury & Illness
Injured at work? We treat the injury, complete your ReturnToWorkSA paperwork, and plan a recovery that gets you safely back to work.
- Preventive Care
Treated properly, documented properly, back safely
If you’re injured at work in South Australia, see a doctor promptly — both for treatment and because early documentation matters for your ReturnToWorkSA claim. Report the injury to your employer, then book with us; same-day appointments are often available.
At your first visit we treat the injury, complete your Work Capacity Certificate (the document your claim and any income support rely on), and assess what work you can safely do. Full time off isn’t always the answer — evidence consistently shows that suitable modified duties speed recovery for most injuries.
From there, we manage your recovery: follow-up reviews, updated certificates, referrals to physiotherapy or specialists as needed, and communication with your case manager. Once your claim is accepted, treatment costs are generally billed to ReturnToWorkSA rather than to you.

- Common Questions
Frequently asked questions
What should I do first after a work injury?
Get any urgent treatment, report the injury to your employer, then book a GP appointment promptly. Early medical documentation protects both your health and your ReturnToWorkSA claim.
Who pays for my treatment?
Once your ReturnToWorkSA claim is accepted, reasonable treatment costs are generally covered by the scheme. Before acceptance, ask reception about billing — keep your receipts, as costs may be reimbursed.
Do I have to take time off work?
Not necessarily. For most injuries, staying at work on suitable modified duties actually speeds recovery. Your Work Capacity Certificate spells out exactly what you can and can’t do.
Can I choose my own doctor for a work injury?
Yes. In South Australia you have the right to choose your treating doctor. Seeing a GP who knows your history helps, especially if recovery takes time.

I have been a patient at this medical practice since it opened in 2023. The receptionists are wonderful in providing my wife and myself with medical and specialists appointments and the doctors and nurses have been very supportive to both of us. A big thank you to all.Posted on Google![]()
