Mental Health
Stress, anxiety and low mood are health conditions, not character flaws. Your GP is a practical first step — and the door to rebated psychology.
- Preventive Care
The first appointment is the hardest part. We make it worth it.
About one in five Australians experiences a mental health condition each year. If you’ve been flat, anxious, not sleeping, drinking more, or just not yourself for a few weeks, that’s reason enough to book. Tell reception you’d like a mental health appointment so we allow proper time.
Your GP will listen first, then assess what’s going on and talk through options — which might include lifestyle changes, psychological therapy, medication, or a combination. If therapy is the right path, a mental health treatment plan gives you access to Medicare-rebated sessions with a psychologist each calendar year.
We also review plans, adjust treatment, manage medication and coordinate with psychologists and psychiatrists over time. Recovery is rarely a straight line, and having one GP who knows your story makes each step easier. If you’re in crisis now, call Lifeline on 13 11 14, or 000 in an emergency.

- Common Questions
Frequently asked questions
What is a mental health treatment plan?
A plan your GP prepares with you that assesses your needs, sets goals and refers you for Medicare-rebated psychology sessions each calendar year. It’s reviewed with your GP as you go.
Do I need a referral to see a psychologist?
You can see one privately without a referral, but a GP mental health treatment plan is what unlocks the Medicare rebate — which makes therapy substantially more affordable.
Will medication be pushed on me?
No. Medication is one option among several, useful for some people and unnecessary for others. Your GP will explain the evidence for each path and the decision stays with you.
What if I need help urgently?
Don’t wait for an appointment. Call Lifeline on 13 11 14 (24 hours), the SA Mental Health Triage Service on 13 14 65, or 000 if there’s immediate danger.

I have been a patient at this medical practice since it opened in 2023. The receptionists are wonderful in providing my wife and myself with medical and specialists appointments and the doctors and nurses have been very supportive to both of us. A big thank you to all.Posted on Google![]()
