Women’s health needs shift across decades — contraception and cervical screening in your 20s and 30s, pregnancy planning and care, perimenopause and menopause, then bone health and heart disease prevention beyond. Having one GP who knows your history makes every transition smoother.
We provide cervical screening tests (every five years for women 25 to 74, with self-collection now an option for eligible patients), breast checks and imaging referrals, contraception across all methods, preconception and antenatal shared care, and management of period problems, endometriosis symptoms, PCOS and menopause.
Menopause deserves particular mention: symptoms are common, often dismissed, and very treatable — from lifestyle measures through to menopausal hormone therapy where appropriate. Dr Geetha Mohan and DR Madhu Rao specialise in women’s and family health, and female GPs are available on request for any appointment.

- Note the first day of your last period before your visit.
- For cervical screening, any day except heavy bleeding days is fine.
- Write down symptoms and how long they’ve been happening.
- Ask reception for a longer appointment for complex or multiple issues.

Frequently asked questions
How often do I need a cervical screening test?
Every five years between ages 25 and 74, if results are normal. The test detects HPV before cell changes develop. Self-collection is now available for eligible patients — ask your GP.
Can I request a female doctor?
Yes, for any appointment. Tell reception when you book. Dr Geetha Mohan has a particular interest in women’s and family health.
Do you provide pregnancy care?
Yes — preconception checks, pregnancy confirmation, early pregnancy care and referral into hospital or shared-care antenatal programs. Book early once you have a positive test.
Is menopause something a GP can treat?
Absolutely. Hot flushes, sleep disruption, mood changes and other symptoms respond well to treatment, including menopausal hormone therapy where appropriate. You don’t have to put up with it.
